The hardest part about learning a new language is staying motivated. So we’ll gamify the learning experience in a partnership with The Sims. In the classic notoriously-addicting game, Duolingo will replace the Sims’ fictional language with a language of your choice, so you stay interested in learning.

Simmers will learn casual conversation through gameplay.




Custom lesson plans will also be available based on your Sim’s personality.

The Headquarter Heist

A mystery robber will strike the Electronic Arts Headquarters, where the Sims is developed. The only thing left at the scene of the crime is a ransom note in an unidentifiable language.



The Reveal

Duolingo will reveal they found the culprit: Duo! But now, he’s the burglar in the Sims and is holding the Plumbob for ransom. 

He’s tired of Simmers skipping their lessons and ignoring his warnings. So he’s taking the consequences into the world they care about. 






The Plumbob Returns

Sims fans will rally to bring back their Plumbob by completing lessons, gaining XP, and maintaining streaks.





Earned Collabs

We’ll partner with Sims influencers @lilsimsie and Kelsey Impicciche to encourage other players to keep up their lessons...or else.
